What is the purpose of BakuPhotos.com?

The idea about the site came to me when I was working in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2003-2005. Very often I got asked about Baku and Azerbaijan, and the best thing I could do was to show Baku and Azerbaijan photos, however, the quality of photos in the internet left a lot to be desired. So, being a passionate photographer, I came with the idea to create the site myself.
If you need photos for your presentation or project, if you're abroad, and want to revive your memories about Baku, or if you just simply love Baku, as many thousands do - then BakuPhotos.com is for you.

How can I use the photos from BakuPhotos.com?

You can freely use the photos from BakuPhotos.com for your presentations, web-sites, desktops, etc. This is why I created this web-site. However, please do not remove references to BakuPhotos.com. I have spent a lot of time building and maintaining this website, so please respect my efforts. Photos from BakuPhotos.com can not be used for commercial publications without my prior consent.

Do you plan to expand the site to include the photos of Azerbaijan?

Yes, I have it in my plans (most likely it will happen sometime in 2008). Currently, I don't have sufficient number of photos, but I'm planning to spend some time travelling around Azerbaijan to build up a good portfolio.

Why there is no Azeri or Russian version of BakuPhotos.com?

Maintaining the site on multiple languages requires additional time and effort. With English increasingly becoming the international language, I would expect most people on the internet to understand basic English. After all, this site is not about textual content, it is about photos. Once the design of the site is finalised, I would consider introducing Azeri and Russian versions.

I have some good photos of Baku. Are you interested in those?

No. There are many beautiful photos of Baku in the internet, however, I intend to maintain this site for my photos only. Otherwise, I would have to spend too much time verifying ownership and maintaining high quality standards for other photos.

The photos on your site have watermarks over them. Can I get non-watermarked photos?

Yes, non-watermarked photos are available for registered members (they still have the reference to BakuPhotos.com). Please register here.

The photos available for download are too small for my purpose. Can I get full-size high-resolution original?

The simple answer is "No", however, if you think you have a good reason why I should share the original with you, you can contact me.

Can I buy prints of your photos?

Yes, please contact me.

Are you a professional photographer?

No, I have full-time job which has nothing to do with photography. Photography is my hobby, although I do some commercial photography as well. Read more in "About" section.

What equipment do you use for your photography?

I use Nikon D70 Digital SLR with interchangeble lenses. Read more in "About" section.
